It has always been my belief that we cannot simply put a band-aid over problems, but must deal with their root causes. We live in a diverse and vibrant community where we must all respect and help each other if we want neighborhoods to improve.
I believe in transparency. I believe in keeping our city’s residents, particularly those in Ward 8, informed of the issues facing Annapolis.
I promise to serve as an Alderman who updates our constituents on the issues and my position, prior to Council votes.
Annapolis is a beautiful, unique and wonderful place to call home. I have a passion to improve my hometown and ensure that proper attention is given to the issues and areas needed for improvement.
Now is the time to improve our community, to continue moving forward, and to ensure it is a safe and beautiful home for all of its residents.
Crime is a threat to our quality of life in Eastport. Despite the data quoted by our prior police chief showing a reduction in crime, those of us living among regular drug dealings, violence and thefts know these statistics provide little solace. I believe more work is needed for residents to once again feel safe in our neighborhoods.

I will work toward a more effective and efficient government. If elected as Alderman, I will be responsible for allocating your taxpayer dollars--spending wisely and cutting costs whenever possible. As the former Controller for Anne Arundel County, I understand and have worked through the complexities that exist in a local government budget.
Roads, sidewalks, water and sewage are core governmental functions that are in dire condition, needing immediate investment and attention. If elected, these will be priorities of Ward 8’s core needs.
If elected, a top priority will be to improve Annapolis’ business climate through efforts to attract, retain and grow businesses in the city, while carefully considering the associated traffic ramifications and their impact on the surrounding community.
It’s important to balance the needs of our local environment to improve our quality of life. I believe in the importance of protecting our environment and the Chesapeake Bay--one of our country's greatest natural resources and the greatest natural resource in our city. I will ensure the Forest Conservation Act is properly enforced and that our Storm Water Management Fund is appropriately financed.
We need to ensure our city has an actual plan in place to fulfill our responsibilities with the EPA, thus allowing us to focus on the necessary capital projects and operating budget that will ensure we meet the guidelines. I will encourage sustainable and renewable energy usage through legislation to mirror the current Anne Arundel County tax credits, which include the High-Performance Dwelling Tax Credit, Geo-Thermal Energy Tax Credit and Solar.
